Establishing and maintaining healthy boundaries is very important.  They serve as guidelines to help you maintain reasonable and safe personal limits on how others behave towards you while determining your response when someone violates those guidelines. 

Here are 4 Considerations for Establishing and Maintaining Healthy Boundaries:

Personal Standards

Identify What you will and will not tolerate.

 Absolute Deal-Breakers

Identify the Behaviors that violate your standards, for example, “your line in the sand.”

 Preferences. 

Become Aware of your personal likes and dislikes (choices).

Expectations. 

What you need or want…not what someone else needs or wants. 

To establish and actively practice healthy boundaries, always remember these guidelines.
